Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero (born Patricia Apollonia Kotero) is an American performer, actress and model. She was a model for a while before becoming an actress. The actress was the co-star in Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain, and the singer for the girl band Apollonia 6 Apollonia was given the title of a female singer and actress by Prince. Through the 1980s, she became one among numerous artists who benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as a model and actress. In the late 70s she was a guest on CHiPS. In 1984, the actress was cast as the leading actress in Prince's Purple Rain. (During this period, she also changed her name.) She then replaced Vanity of the female group Vanity 6 which starred in the film with Apollonia 6 under their name. The three scored a minor smash with Sex Shooter however it was in the role of Prince's duet partner on Take Me with You from the soundtrack that she achieved an impact on the charts. Kotero was able to break up with Prince when they fell out about the fate of Apollonia 6. She was later seen in several minor films during this time (reportedly not wanting to be in the Purple Rain follow-up Under the Cherry Moon) prior to landing an appearance on the evening-time drama Falcon Crest during 1985-1986. Apollonia could finally launch her debut album in 1988. However, the album didn't leave a lasting impression with music fans and soon faded from the spotlight. During the following decade, Apollonia continued to perform as an actress (if she was a bit unnoticed), with minor television roles, films and even an exercise film. Apollonia published a Spanish/English CD named Stay With Me in 1997. She later returned to school to study filmmaking as well as a production company, often working on the field of children's TV. Apollonia is a multi-talented woman. She was a model, singer-actress and talent manager. She was in 1984 when she was credited for her performance on the show Purple Rain. The American actress has appeared in a variety of music videos, including those for Ray Parker Jr. Kotero has also been an entrepreneur and created Kotero Entertainment, a multimedia entertainment company.
